My husband and I are in our 20s, and we would really like to host an exchange student (I%26#039;m a Spanish teacher, and I love working with teens and learning about different cultures!). We are concerned about finances though. Anyone out there who has hosted for a semester or year - how much, roughly, does it cost per month? The companies we applied through all told us that we just provide food and a place for them to stay, and they bring their own spending money ($200+ per month). Thanks!!! :)
Cost of hosting an exchange student?
If you have an extra room already than that won%26#039;t cost much. Since you have to eat anyway, sharing your food with a third person isn%26#039;t that big a deal.
Should be about $20/month extra for the extra toilet paper.
